Guests are welcome to reschedule their tour up to 24 hours prior to the original scheduled tour time. A new confirmation email will be sent to confirm any changes.

Guests are welcome to cancel their tour up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour time and will receive a full refund of the amount paid. Refunds will be processed via the same payment method used for the original booking.

For cancellations received within 24 hours of the scheduled tour time, 50% of the amount paid will be retained to help cover pre-arranged catering and staffing costs.

In the event of a no-show, no refund will be provided. We agree, in good faith, to hold places for our guests through the booking process. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we have the opportunity to offer your place to other guests and manage our pre-arranged catering and staffing commitments.

Minimum guest numbers

Some of our tours require a minimum number of guests to proceed. Your booking confirmation confirms your place on the tour; however, it does not necessarily mean that the minimum number of guests required for the tour to proceed has been reached.

If minimum guest numbers are not met, The Truffle Farm reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the tour. The timing of this decision may vary depending on the tour and booking circumstances. We will provide affected guests with as much notice as reasonably possible.

Where available, guests will be offered the option to transfer their booking to another suitable tour or date. If an alternative is not suitable, guests will receive a full refund of the amount paid to The Truffle Farm for the cancelled tour.

The weather in Tasmania can change often and quickly. This experience is held OUTSIDE, and we recommend that you prepare for the outdoors and the ever-changing weather in Tasmania. We have umbrellas on site, but you need to take responsibility for dressing appropriately for the weather and for keeping yourself warm. We will be in an open shed for your lunch experience (this is out of the wind, and we have gas heaters so you can warm up). You will receive a confirmation text the day before your tour and, your host will notify you of any weather concerns.

Flat, closed-in shoes that are comfortable to walk in. You will be asked to put disposable shoe coverings over your shoes whilst in the Trufferie for quarantine reasons and, these fit best over closed-in shoes.

Children are welcome on tour, and families can enjoy the experience together. Children aged 4 to 12 years pay the child price. Guests aged 13 years and over are considered adults and pay the adult price. Children aged 3 years and under are free of charge. No meal or food is provided for children aged 3 years and under, but they are welcome to share food from an accompanying adult’s meal.

Guests should include all children in their booking, including babies and children aged 3 years and under. The total number of guests on each tour helps us plan for everyone’s comfort and ensure there is plenty of space to move comfortably.

Our highly trained and friendly truffle dogs are an important part of the tour, and children are welcome to enjoy the experience with them. Parents and accompanying adults are asked to help children remain settled and comfortable throughout the tour. The experience includes storytelling and time with the truffle dogs, and children are welcome to enjoy both. If a child becomes restless or unsettled, parents and accompanying adults are asked to manage this so the experience remains enjoyable for everyone in the group.

When truffle hunting, each booking party will be offered the opportunity to dig up a truffle. Adults with children will be invited to share this experience together. If time permits and truffles are plentiful, additional digging opportunities may be available. You can read more about what to expect on your truffle hunt here.

For safety and biosecurity reasons, children must remain with a parent or accompanying adult at all times and cannot roam freely in the plantation.

For young children, a baby carrier or pack is recommended. Prams can be used in the Tour Shed but cannot be taken into the plantation because of biosecurity risks.

We are happy to look after guests of all ages and abilities. If you yourself are concerned about your mobility/ability or that of a loved one, please contact me directly on; 0437849283 and I am happy to discuss your options. Our plantation is flat and easy to walk through. We are able to prioritise guests with any mobility issues and ensure they are given the first opportunity to unearth a truffle or watch a truffle be unearthed and can then be guided back to the comfort of the tour shed to sit and enjoy the scenery if being on foot for too long is a concern.

The Truffle Farm’s friendly truffle dogs are a vital and essential part of both the farm operation and the tour experience.

The truffle dogs are specially trained working dogs and are very accustomed to being around visitors. They roam freely off-lead during tours and, while they may be excited to greet guests on arrival, they then settle and rest peacefully around the tour shed before and after the hunting component of the experience.

As the truffle dogs form an integral part of the experience and cannot be removed from standard tours, guests are asked to ensure that they, and anyone travelling with them are comfortable being around friendly, off-lead working dogs before booking.

For guests who may be less comfortable around dogs, a private tour may allow the experience to be customised to reduce interaction with the dogs. A truffle dog will still be required for the hunting component of the experience, however arrangements can be discussed with the team prior to booking.

As The Truffle Farm is a working farm with trained truffle dogs, visiting pets are not permitted on tours or in the truffle plantation. This helps protect the biosecurity of the plantation, the wellbeing of the working dogs, the farm environment and the visitor experience.

Guests travelling with an assistance dog are asked to contact The Truffle Farm prior to booking so the team can discuss their individual requirements and any necessary arrangements for their visit.

Visitors travelling with dogs are still very welcome to visit the Farmgate Shop surrounds, where dogs are welcome on lead. Visitors are asked to keep their dogs under their control, clean up after them and be considerate of other visitors who may not be comfortable around dogs.

Truffles are a natural, seasonal product, and as such we cannot guarantee how many truffles will be found on any given tour.

For public scheduled tours, we will always do our best to ensure that at least one guest from each booking party has the opportunity to dig up (harvest) a truffle. However, this cannot be guaranteed. If time permits and truffles are plentiful, additional digging opportunities may be available.

Please keep this in mind when making your booking and setting your expectations for the day.

Our Farmgate shop is located on farm at 844 Mole Creek Rd, Deloraine. 
Open between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm every day (10:00am to 3:00pm during winter/spring), entry is free, and bookings are not required.  

Whilst there, visitors can learn about the truffles we grow, sample and purchase our gourmet truffle products, purchase fresh truffles (Dec to Sept), purchase Truffle Farm merchandise and enjoy our decadent fresh truffle ice cream.  

Our lovely gardens are a delight to stop for a rest with bathrooms available, and ample car parking is available for coaches and motorhomes/vans etc.  

Sadly, due to limited catering facilities, food & beverages are not available at the Farmgate shop.

The Farmgate shop is open all year-round. (Closed on Christmas Day).

Our menu is 100% vegetarian and does not include meat or seafood.
We cater for different dietary needs (Gluten-free, Lactose-free and Vegan) and there is a section in our booking process where you can list your dietary requirements prior to completing the booking process.

Our refreshments include a selection of Tasmanian wines and beers and non-alcoholic beverages.
