We’re spoilt for choice here in Tasmania’s beautiful Meander Valley, with so much to see, taste and explore within an easy drive of The Truffle Farm.  Located around 45 minutes from Launceston and directly on the route to Cradle Mountain, it’s well worth allowing a little extra time to explore the region along the way.

The region is home to an abundance of local producers, farm gates and artisan food and drink experiences. Follow the Tasting Trail Tasmania to discover even more along the way. You’ll find The Truffle Farm at stop #9 on the Tasting Trail map.

Just down the road, spend some time exploring Deloraine, with its cafés, pubs, galleries and shops, or stroll along the beautiful Meander River, home to several families of wild platypus. Deloraine is known as one of Tasmania’s great places to see platypus in the wild, and visitors can even join a guided evening platypus walk departing from the Empire Hotel.

And that’s only the beginning. With waterfalls, short walks, caves, wildlife, historic towns and the spectacular Great Western Tiers all within reach, there’s plenty of reason to slow down and spend a little longer exploring our part of Tasmania.
