Out of Season Truffle Farm Tour
Discover the fascinating world of truffles, even outside the harvest season…
The Truffle Farm harvests two varieties of black truffles, offering fresh truffle hunting experiences from December to September. October and November are the only months without fresh harvesting, but there's still plenty of truffle magic to discover!
During this special out-of-season experience, guests can explore the plantation and watch the friendly truffle dogs demonstrate their remarkable hunting skills using decoys.
Afterwards, guests can relax amongst the truffle trees and enjoy a gourmet three-cheese truffle toastie, accompanied by a glass of Tasmanian wine, beer or a non-alcoholic beverage. The experience also includes tastings of gourmet truffle products and delicious truffle ice cream for dessert!
Although fresh truffle hunting is not available during October and November, guests can still enjoy the wonderful flavours of premium black winter truffles, frozen at peak maturity.

Farmgate Shop
Visitors short on time are welcome to visit the Farmgate Shop, located on farm at 844 Mole Creek Road, Deloraine. Open daily from 10:00am to 3:00pm (until 31 October) and 10:00am to 4:00pm (from 1 November). Entry is free and bookings are not required.
Visitors can learn about the truffles grown on the farm, sample and purchase gourmet truffle products, purchase fresh truffles when in season, and fresh farm eggs, laid daily by some of the most pampered hens in Deloraine!
Visitors can also enjoy decadent fresh truffle ice cream, Belgian truffle chocolate and freshly baked truffle croissants. The croissants are especially popular and often sell out, so early visits are recommended. Planning ahead? Enquiries for advance croissant orders are welcome, subject to availability and confirmation.
Doug the Big Dog (a 2.5m statue of Doug the Truffle Dog) loves pats and photos, and children can enjoy a free treasure hunt game in the gardens.
The lovely gardens are a great place to relax, with visitor bathrooms and ample parking for cars, caravans and motorhomes.
Please note: The Farmgate Shop does not operate as a café or offer an à la carte menu. Meals such as the signature truffle pizza and truffle toasties are catered exclusively for guests booked on the relevant tour experience and cannot be purchased separately.
The Farmgate Shop is open year-round, including public holidays, except Christmas Day.
